Abstract: | The parallel use of different satellite constellations has the potential to improve satellite navigation in many domains. Due to the higher number of usable satellites, reliable satellite navigation can still be possible in situations where single-constellation GNSS is not even available. In the automotive domain, satellite navigation will be used increasingly for future safety-critical applications. This paper shows typical challenges for satellite navigation in urban scenarios and assesses the performance boosts enabled by modern satellite navigation systems. |
