Data Driven Ionospheric Modeling: How Much is Enough?

Robert E. Daniell Jr.

Abstract: This paper addresses the question of how much data is required for data driven ionospheric modeling by examining the problem of characterizing the equatorial anomaly using non-GPS data. The intended application is the characterization and mitigation of single frequency GPS position errors caused by the ionosphere.
