Abstract: Alkaline-earth atoms offer spectrally narrow transitions that are attractive for optical frequency standards. Thus far, experiments have been limited to laser-cooled and atomic beam geometries. We present compact vapor cell solutions for realizing high-performance single-laser alkaline-earth clocks that are simple in design.
