Abstract: This paper reports the design, implementation in a realistic simulation environment, and performance analysis of the GNSS receiver architecture known as Direct Position Estimation. After a brief overview on the underlying mathematical model and a detailed description of the receiver architecture, a software implementation is put under test using different statistical channel models and receiver dynamics, assessing its performance in realistic scenarios and propagation conditions.
