Abstract: | Aiming to the problem of fast acquisition of the receiver in warm start-up stage, the paper presents an approach which applies the epoch difference carrier phase to assist the receiver to realize the acquisition. With the high dynamic of the carrier or the weak signal, the receiver produces quite large Doppler frequency shift which will be attached to the carrier signal to generate larger error in the carrier frequency estimation. In this case the receiver will get lost of lock. The receiver will have access to the condition of reacquisition. At that moment, it can take advantage of the epoch difference carrier phase to calculate the speed of the carrier. Next, combined with the ephemeris information, it estimates the Doppler frequency shift, determines the search range of frequency and improves the acquisition performance. The estimated Doppler frequency is small search range, the search process can be appropriate to reduce the search step, which will help to improve the signal acquisition sensitivity. Use Propak-V3 receiver which is manufactured by NovAtel Company is applied for the data collection. And then, 360s selected from the data collected is utilized to study the Doppler frequency shift. The result indicates that using the carrier epoch difference for the aided acquisition contributes to lowering SNR requirement and shortening the average acquisition time. It is of great significance for the fast acquisition of the receiver under the condition of high dynamic or weak signal. |
