Abstract: | In this study, satellite set selection algorithm for GAST-D (GBAS Approach Service Type-D) airborne subsystem under ionospheric disturbed conditions was investigated by simulations. Four parameters including the vertical and lateral protection levels (VPL and LPL), a multiple of VPL and LPL, and weighted sum of VPL and LPL (APL), and differences between position solutions with 100 and 30 sec smoothing time constants (WPL). WPL is found to be the best parameter in overall performance in vertical position error. Weights to each component of WPL may be optimized by further analysis. To validate the results, flight experiments were conducted with a prototype of GAST-D ground subsystem at New Ishigaki Airport, Japan and an experimental GAST-D airborne subsystem from 21 to 28 March, 2014. There were 3 nights of flight experiments with plasma bubble occurrences. The data are under analysis to validate the simulation results obtained in this study. |
