SVD-based RF Interference Detection and Mitigation for GNSS

Matteo Sgammini, Felix Antreich, Michael Meurer

Abstract: In this work an eigenspace method for interference detection and mitigation is presented. Several problems arise when using the SVD-based algorithm in single antenna GNSS receivers, causing the impairment of the correlation matrix estimate. Solutions to the problems are proposed. The derived approaches are assessed by computer simulations. It is shown that detection and mitigation of wide-sense stationary narrow-band interference can be achieved with low complexity, while wide-band and/or non-stationary interferences require more degrees of freedom and thus more complexity.
