Abstract: | Student Paper Award Winner. This paper proposes a novel GNSS carrier phase tracking algorithm which employs prediction and feed-forward compensation of receiver platform dynamics. The work exploits the quasi-periodic nature of receiver motion wherein a short-term Fourier transform based algorithm is used to predict and compensate for changes in the Doppler frequency. The variation in the Doppler frequency, and hence the resultant variation carrier phase, in a pedestrian hand-held system is studied as an example. The algorithm is tested with live GPS L1 C/A signals. The performance evaluation of the proposed method is performed based on a phase lock indicator and between-receivers carrier phase difference. |
