Abstract: This paper introduces the method of SSR PPP and discusses applicability to Asia-Pacific services, on the basis of our heritage with long-term demonstration using Quazi-Zenith Satellite-1 since 2010. SSR PPP is real-time Precise Point Positioning (PPP) based on State Space Representation (SSR) defined by RTCM STANDARD 10403.2 section 3.5.12. ‘State Space’ is a mathematical framework of optimal design for an observation system represented in form of stochastic differential equations to realize the highest performance. In this paper, it’s described that SSR PPP’s purpose, methodology, configuration, evaluation and consideration for potential service providers in the Asia-Pacific region. Japanese Quazi-Zenith Satellite System has implemented SSR PPP for the region around Japan, that has been used in the Application Demonstrations promoted by SPAC since 27th December 2010. The QZSS signals cover not only Japan but also the Asia-Pacific region. Therefore we discuss applicability of SSR PPP to Asia-Pacific region and a set of infrastructure needed. Not only Japan but also other regions are expected to enjoy Quazi-Zenith Effect of navigation with highly accurate augmentation using SSR PPP as based on voices of users today. They will support development of GPS/GNSS-leading civilian industry furthermore.
