Vibration-Induced Drift in the Hemispherical Resonator Gyro

David D. Lynch

Abstract: The mechanisms in the HRG that lead to drift sensitivity to externally applied vibration arc discussed. They are shown to result in modest vibration sensitivities that occur only at frequencies above those of the usual aircraft vibration environment. The HRG is shown to be suitable for use in severe vibration environments.
