Inertial Grade Fiber Gyros

G. A. Pavlath

Abstract: Fiber gyros are being developed for numerous applications by many people around the world. These applications include smart munitions, tactical missiles, attitude and heading reference systems (AHRS), inertial navigation, and tracking and pointing. This paper will review existing methods which have been developed for achieving inertial navigation grade performance in fiber gyros. Recent data obtained at Litton on an engineering development model of an inertial grade fiber gyro will also be presented.
