Abstract: | Interest in Loran-C has been growing at an explosive rate within the aviation community for the past few years. The FAA estimates about 20% of the General Aviation aircraft owners have installed a Loran-C receiver in the past few years. The strong popularity of Loran-C is clearly a result of the system's superior accuracy, flexibility, and low altitude coverage, as well as a much lower cost, compared with other navigation systems. |
