GPS Survivability

Alan Burgess

Abstract: Ladies and Gentlemen. The object of my briefing today is to identify those measures that have either been purposely built into the GPS system, or have evolved as a matter of the system design, which will contribute to what is considered to be an extremely high degree of survivability of the system. I should stress at the outset that much of the deliberations on survivabilty cannot be based on factual evidence, but with GPS being primarily a military system, I hope my presentation will identify that there is a high level of confidence that this system will survive in a conflict.
