Application of Inertial Navigation in Material Handling Systems

Abstract:	This paper discusses how inertial navigation can be applied to automatic guided vehicles (AGV's) used in material handling systems. It provides a brief history of AGV navigation systems, followed by a discussion of the main issues concerning the application of inertial navigation to AGV based material handling systems. Finally, there will be a discussion of how inertial navigation has been implemented by FMS on our material handling system.
