ASHTECH XII - a New GPS Technology

Javad Ashjaee, James Collins

Abstract: The ASHTECH XII is the first of a new generation of GPS receivers that is both user friendly and truly portable. Tests of kinematic GPS surveying using this receiver have demonstrated that a totally new level of productivity can be achieved which will place the GPS technique in direct competition with conventional (total station) surveys. The small power consumption of the ASHTECH XII is the feature which permits extravehicular kinematic surveying that is essential the commercial use of this technique.
