Signal Processing in a Digital GPS Receiver

Dominic Farmer, Steven Leasure, James Thomas

Abstract: Some novel approaches to GPS signal acquisition and tracking are examined in the context of the digital signal processing capability of the latest generation of PPS 5-channel GPS receivers. Moding and measurement quality of the GPS sensors are considered in a range of combinations of dynamics and RF interference. The system implications of tracking performance are examined and results from simulations are compared with measured performance.
