Abstract: A Navigation Similar Source Integrator (NAVSSI) conceptually designed using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technique is proposed. NAVSSI is synthesized as comprising of a feature vector processor, trainable pattern classifiers and an output smoothing filter. The learning procedures use an on-line teacher, creating scene models of the dynamic process from which training feature vectors are extracted. NAVSSI has two functions: (1) To isolate a bad sensor, and (2) To provide a composite best estimate of the navigation state vector. For the purpose of this paper, it is assumed that the mutually aiding multisensor navigation system (5-CH GPS, DUAL INS, Transit, Omega, 1-CH GPS (C/A), Dual Gyrocompass and EM Log) is penalized by the destruction of some navigation transmitters, intense jamming and degradation or failure of sensor components. The NAVSSI Support Facility (NSF) is configured as a developmental, training and test-evaluation facility.
