Abstract: | The translated. GPS system concept is briefly described. The advantages of a Translated GPS System particularly for small expendable vehicles is explained. Then the application of this system to ERIS tracking and positioning is described. Translated GPS will be used for real-time positioning of ERIS vehicles as a part of mission operations. Finally some preliminary test results are presented. The first Translator Processing System was installed on Carlos Island (Kwajalein Atoll) in May, 1989 and a series of static and low dynamic tracking tests were conducted by the government. The results of these tests are presented. |
