Abstract: | The Time Service Division (DSHO) of the National Observatory in Rio de Janeiro (ONRJ) has provided timing for the Brazil since 1827. It also maintains the Brazil Legal Time Scale that now uses as reference an ensemble of seven commercial cesium clocks and two hydrogen masers. Besides that by a designation of INMETRO, DSHO acts as National Measurement Institute of Time and Frequency since 1983. In this report, we focus on the performance of the timekeeping system and describe the changes that are being done in all the activities related with time and frequency metrology. |
