The BIPM Time Department Database

H. Konaté and F. Arias

Abstract: The BIPM Time Department has developed a web-based database to collect and share information with the time community. The purpose is to facilitate both, the BIPM and the users, access to a complete set of information related to the laboratories contribution and timescales results. Contents of the database are: - general information on the laboratories contributing to UTC: codes and identifiers, distribution in Regional Metrology Organizations, location; - clocks in laboratories and reported to the BIPM: including master clock identification (when relevant), primary/secondary frequency standards; - time transfer systems operated in laboratories and reported to the BIPM, including their identification, calibrations, status in UTC and in the rapid solution UTCr; - other relevant information coming from the BIPM. The database will allow the user to consult data, news and information provided by the BIPM, to make particular queries, to download documents and to send feedback to the Time Department. It will also provide additional access to the regular publications of the Time Department. As in December 2013 the database in under internal testing, and will undergo very soon under external verification. We expect to have the process validated in the first months of 2014, and then to provide access to external users on a restricted basis.
