The Future Satellite Navigation Systems

M.M. Romay Merino, M.D. Laínez Samper

Abstract: Sometimes we do not realize that we are living a revolution in the GNSS era and it is important to think today about the systems of the future. This article will provide an overview of the current situation and the performances that can be achieved today and will provide some hints about the future perspectives indicating the major challenges and areas for improvements. Some simulations will indicate the performances that will be able to be achieved showing that there is still significant room for innovation and consequently to improve the life of the citizens demanding more and more advanced GNSS applications.
