Abstract: | Innovation cycles are becoming ever faster in shipping, just as in other fields too. However, optimum equipment requires qualified user requirements. Based on personnel concepts and performance procedures in modem ship control, the current development of equipment and the potential for the near future are described. The deficiencies of existing systems are listed and a methodology is proposed for the determination and specification of user requirements for improved development of equipment. |
