Observability Analysis for Transfer Alignment Technique Considering the Lever Arm Effect with Time Delay

Cheol-Kwan Yang and Duk-Sun Shim

Abstract: We study on the velocity matching algorithm for transfer alignment of strapdown inertial navigation systems (INS). The lever arm effect needs to be compensated between the master INS and slave INS in the case of velocity matching. The observability of time delay between the master INS and slave INS is analyzed and a two-step velocity matching technique is proposed and its effect on the performance of transfer alignment with velocity matching is investigated with computer simulation.
