Development of an Internet-Based Wireless Platform for Mobile Information Management and Sservice

Z. Liu, Y. Gao and Zhizhao Liu

Abstract: Internet-based Wireless Platform (IWP) for Location-based mobile information management and service (LMIMS) is designed for applications such as vehicle navigation, RTK GPS, E-911, and mobile asset management. IWP is comprised of highly hardware independent components to allow easy future integration, adaptation and expansion. The first part of this paper describes the concept, architecture, and realization of IWP. Two applications, IWP-based RTK and IWP-based Mobile Asset Management, are investigated based on IWP. The results show that IWP is suitable for wide area mobile applications and it can not only improve the development efficiency but also reduce the development cost.
