Abstract: | This paper presents the integrity performance monitoring results of the PORIMA algorithm - one of the Advanced RAIM (ARAIM) algorithms applied to the GPS Signal-in-Space (SIS) monitoring. It is implemented in the Navigation Satellite Monitoring System (NSM) and used in daily monitoring for two years starting from 2010 to present (2012). The daily monitoring results are presented in terms of the accuracy, integrity, continuity and availability such as horizontal and vertical protection levels, false alarm rate, integrity failures and monitored GPS events (satellite repositioning, outages and maneuvers etc.). The two-year integrity monitoring results show excellent integrity performance, for example, the LPV 200 based VPL availability achieved >99% during Apr. 2010 – Mar 2012 (receiver and network failures were not included in the statistic results), the false alarm rate smaller than 0.05% for the most of time. From April 2010 to March 2012, all GPS events, when GPS satellites were visible in Stuttgart, Germany, were successfully detected by the PORIMA algorithm, including a critical event in 2009, i.e. SVN-54 / PRN-18 anomaly occurred on 25.07.2009. There were no missed detection and integrity failure occurred in the same period. The paper presents more detailed results of yearly, monthly and daily integrity monitoring performance in the user domain. One of the benefits of the PORIMA integrity algorithm is that it can be used as ARAIM algorithm to support the Galileo integrity service. The paper also proposes a possible approach. The two-year PORIMA integrity monitoring results presented here were achieved based on the IGS ground monitoring network. However this network is not validated for use in safety critical applications. Therefore several internal barrier check algorithms are implemented together with PRORIMA. A simple method to validate the IGS like additional support information is introduced using safety guaranteed networks like the EGNOS RIMS network. |
