Abstract: | This paper describes the application of IFEN’s software receiver SX-NSR to act as a multi-frequency multi-GNSS reflectometry system. The resulting reflectometry receiver is called SX-NSR-R. A reflectometry system analyses reflected GNSS signal to investigate properties of the reflecting surface and to derive various parameters from that (height, soil moisture, sea wave height, salinity, ice cover, …). As an example, a ground based altimetry system has been set up and has been tested with GPS and Galileo signals. The paper discusses the hardware parameters of the SX-NSR-R, the signal processing scheme and the experimental results. Most remarkable, Galileo E5 AltBOC altimetry is demonstrated with decimeter accuracy within 2.56 s observation time. |
