Abstract: | With the increase of GNSS-based applications, and their future use in regulated areas, authentication becomes an important part of geo-localization technologies. Several researches have been launched to address this issue, presenting various original authentication mechanisms. The CNES experts started to deeply study this subject since 2008 and launched several studies in collaboration with private companies. With the objective to demonstrate the implementation of an effective authentication mechanism for Galileo and EGNOS, this paper aims at establishing a classification of all the possible authentication mechanisms. To do so, an inventory of authentication solutions is done, followed by the definition of a set of criteria to sort out these solutions. At the end, three classifications, based on three scenarios, are made and discussed. |
