REPLY TO COMMENTS ON "THE METHOD OF COPLANAR VERTICES FOR ASTRONOMICAL POSITIONING: PRESENT APPLICATIONS AND FUTURE EXTENSIONS"

Abstract: In response to the comments on my recent paper in NAVIGATION [1] by Kaplan and Janiczek, I would like to make the following points. First, with regard to the previous work cited by the commenters: My contribution was presented as a synopsis, and not at all as a thesis. I know there is a large number of references on this subject in the astronomy literature; an attempt to be comprehensive would have resulted in omitting—and upsetting—a number of important authors. In fact, I am not in the best position to review the American literature, and a long list of European references would have appeared excessive. But I would like to take advantage of this opportunity to offer a global acknowledgment to the astronomical community.
