Abstract: Latitude, Longitude and Azimuth by the Sun or Stars, second edition, by Thomas Felix Hickerson, published by the author, 108 Battle Lane, Chapel Hill, N.C., is a small condensed text with tables for surveying and celestial navigation. This little volume of 101 pages is not intended to be used as a textbook by a student of navigation. On the other hand, it contains “the basic tabular material for finding lines of position at any point of the habitable world,” and therefore could be of great value to a navigator who is not able to have at hand several volumes of H.O. No.214 or H.O. No. 218.
