Abstract: | The phase tracking error caused by multipath propagation remains one of the largest problems in high precision applications. Therefore methods for multipath error esti-mation and mitigation are requested. One approach is the determination of the multipath signal parameters, ampli-tudes and phases, out of SNR time series. By means of these values, the tracking error can be calculated. This paper presents the Hilbert Huang Transform as an adap-tive signal analysis method for estimating the number of multipath signals as well as their magnitudes and phase angles. The method is applied to synthetic SNR time series and adjusted for the determination of the phase tracking error due to multipath. Its benefits and draw-backs are discussed. |
