Abstract: | Hutching’s Star Tables for Air Navigation, H.O. 249, have now been printed and are ready for distribution. For any assumed latitude from the North to the South Pole, the entering argument is the LHA r. Six stars are listed for every 15 degrees of LHA r and their computed altitudes and true azimuths are given. No interpolation is required. This is a preliminary edition. If the Star Tables should meet with the wide acceptance they deserve, then this volume should form one part of a comprehensive table for air navigation. Therefore, considerable thought should be given to the possible arrangement and appearance of declination tables which might be issued as part of H.O. 249. |
