Abstract: | The impetus of war has made long-distance flying to remote nations of the world commonplace. However, it has not solved the political, legal, and technical problems associated with broad regional or international aspects of air travel. A major attempt at the solution of these problems was the International Civil Aviation Conference held at Chicago in the latter part of 1944. This conference resulted in the establishment of the three-year Interim Provisional International Civil Aviation Organization (PICAO). |
