Abstract: | Japanese Almanacs from captured ships and aircraft have been examined at the Naval Observatory. While there is nothing new about recent editions, they present some interesting points for contrast with other almanacs. Before evaluating the Japanese Almanac it is desirable to review the fundamental methods for determining coordinates of objects for celestial navigation. |
