| Abstract: | The influence of the Navy on the teaching and practice of navigation is far reaching because it is responsible for all almanacs. Today the challenge to the Naval Observatory and its Nautical Almanac Office is to develop an American Nautical Almanac which equals or surpasses the American Air Almanac. |
