Abstract: Captain P. V. H. Weems has offered his thoughts on modern marine navigation. He points out the variances hetween navigation on merchant vessels and Navy ships. This is caused mainly by the differences in availahle equipment and training. Captain Weems, who spent three years as a Convoy Commodore during the war, observes that the government - trained navigators on merchant ships whose training is much like that of naval officers are tending to minimize any outstanding differences in navigation. "Overall results in both services are generally excellent."
