NAVIGATIONAL SCIENCE AND NATIONAL SECURITY

Abstract: In accepting the post of President of The Institute of Navigation, I wish to express to the members of the Institute my sincere appreciation for the honor they have conferred upon me, and for the confidence they have thereby placed in me; I shall do all in my power to justify that confidence. It is indeed a pleasant assignment to serve as president in a scientific society such as this, where navigators meet in friendship and good cheer to enjoy each other’s companionship and to exchange experiences in the fascinating art of navigation. Good fellowship among navigators has been, and will always be, the foundation upon which the Institute of Navigation rests.
