Abstract: | The Weather Bureau is responsible for furnishing to aviation a basic meteorological service as an aid to air navigation and to promote safety and efficiency in air commerce. Our aviation services are designed with this objective in mind. The major problem of the weather service is to meet the needs of all classes of users with a single product. We approach this problem by laying down all of the weather requirements that are common to all classes of operators and designing our services to meet the general needs. This service consists of three parts, observations, forcecasts, and climatological statistics. |
