Abstract: | The National Observatory finds itself in the Defense Establishment for only one reason that is on account of the essential services that it renders to navigation. It finds itself in the Navy Department rather than in one of the other two services chiefly for historical reasons. The Observatory renders two principal services to navigation as well as a number of subsidiary services. They are: Time and Almanacs. |
