NAVIGATION AND CONTROL OF MISSILES

Colonel M. C. Young

Peer Reviewed

Abstract: We might ask ourselves the question, “What are the basic differences between navigation in conventional aircraft and navigation in guided missiles?,” . It might be said that in one vehicle a human does the navigating and in the other a robot does it. However, robot navigation has already appeared in conventional aircraft. Within a few years we will probably be able to say that a normal aircraft carries an attended robot navigator and a guided missile carries a robot, but no attendant.
