REGULATIONS FOR PREVENTING COLLISIONS AT SEA

-

Peer Reviewed

Abstract: These rules are the Proposed International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea, and were copied from the official document containing the final action printed in London at the adjournment of the international Conference July 10, 1948. Captain R. F. Farwell, USNR, United States Delegate to the Conference, has made them available. It must be understood clearly that they have not been adopted in this country officially at the date of this publication. Congressional action will be required before they become law. The effective date of the proposals was set by the Conference for January 1, 1951, provided fifteen nations had adopted them by that time.
