Peer Reviewed

Abstract: On September 14. 1947, I accompanied one of the KLM pilots, Mr. Hakkenberg van Gaasbeek, on a crossing to New York. Because of my concern with navigation problems - I am a member of the Institute of Navigation and chairman of the examination board for air navigators in the Netherlands - the navigational phases of the journey were of greatest interest.
