THE CADAMETER

Rear Admiral M. R. Pierce

Peer Reviewed

Abstract: The Cadameter is a celestial plotting bbard (see Appendix A). It is an azimuthal equidistant projection so designed that one measures the course and distance (altitude and azimuth) by means of a combined protractor and linear scale. On this projection a great circle passing through or near the point of tangency is a straight line. Aeronautical Services, Inc. is preparing to produce the Cadameter in conjunction with the Weems Polar Computer.
