Abstract: The general problem of computing loran tables involves the determination of the geographic coordinates of certain hyperbolic lines of position. In the standard inverse method a grid of time differences is computed from which the required coordinates are determined by inverse interpolation.* The present article concerns itself with the description of an approximate direct method for computing loran lines of position.
