Peer Reviewed

Abstract: A new and different kind of gyroscope was disclosed at a conference recently held, under the sponsorship of the United States Bureau of Aeronautics, at the plant of the Sperry Gyroscope Company. Based on vibrating masses and embodied in the general form of a tuning fork, this new instrument points the way to many potential advantages in aircraft navigation and also fulfills many of the precise requirements needed in equipment designed for the military services. It is called the Gyrotron’ Vibratory Gyro.
