Abstract: | When the first news about the satellite Sputnik made known that it was equipped with a radio transmitter with frequencies in the ultra-short-wave and short-wave bands, one was first interested in finding out under which conditions these transmissions could be received. When shortly afterwards several receiving stations reported regular and good reception on both frequencies, it was of special interest to complete the pure observations of reception by radio bearings in order to obtain additional information. |
