Abstract:	In his article on icecap Navigation1 Major Mogensen gives an excellent description of the conditions and problems met with while navigating on a polar icesheet. It is the purpose of thsi article to describe how these conditions and problems were dealt with during the summer of 1955 by Project "jello" of the Snow, Ice, and Permafrost Research Establishment.
