Abstract: | THE FULLY AUTOMATIC navigation system is at best several years in the future, and meanwhile it is imperative that all reasonable improvements of methods, techniques and equipment be made with the system in-being. Navigation procedures must keep pace with the aircraft currently in operation. Constant reorganization and improvement will help increase the proficiency and overall welfare of aircrews. Positive improvements must be made within the flexibility of the existing equipment and aids to navigation to make it easier for aircrews to accomplish their missions. The safety factor must always be considered when devising improvements, new devices, or different procedures. |
