Abstract:	Why should anyone want to be President of The Institute of Navigation? I’d like to take a minute to develop this thought, emphasized as follows: Why should anyone like to be President of The Institute? Possibly you have been asked to accept such a position and have gone through a similar reasoning process. It certainly can’t be because of the pay, since there isn’t any?
