Abstract:	THE FOLLOWING REPORT ON progress in navigational science during 1959 has been prepared by the technical committees. This report is somewhat less comprehensive than the reports for 1950 and 1951, published in the editions of March 1951 and September 1952, respectively, because the present committee structure does not provide coverage of all facets of navigation.
