ORBITING ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATORIES

W. C. Triplett

Peer Reviewed

Abstract: IN THE PREVIOUS PAPER Dr. Deutsch gave us an interesting presentation of some of the reasons for wanting to conduct astronomical experiments outside the earth’s atmosphere, and outlined the limitations that would be imposed on such a program. I would like to discuss a satellite program that has been planned for accomplishing just this. I do intend to discuss the configuration of the satrllitc that has been proposed, but deal mainly with the problems of control.
